When she isn’t working on achieving State and District Championships, Lilly, a Blue Belt in just her second year of training, has her sights set on some specific, longer-term goals. She began ATA Taekwondo to learn life skills and how to defend herself, and now wants to be a 3rd Degree Black Belt by the time she heads off to college. Lilly’s potential as a future leader was recognized when she was invited to participate in the ATA’s Leadership Program, which focuses on character development and managerial skills as well as martial arts training and is specifically targeted for elite students. In the meantime, Lilly says she attempts to show leadership every day, in her marital arts school and beyond, by trying to show respect to her parents , peers, teachers, instructor and just about anyone else she encounters.
