Master Hauptman, - Thank you. Jacob is totally enthusiastic about Taekwondo. He loves working out with Mr. Zwingler, Miss Wiley and the rest of the staff. They are so encouraging to him and make him feel so proud of his efforts. We are very, very pleased. Thank you and your excellent staff for encouraging Jacob and teaching him lessons that will last a lifetime!

Just wanted to drop a note to say "THANK YOU" for providing Alex with such a wonderful experience. He's been saying for a month that when he tests for his red/black belt it will be his best day ever. And true to form, yesterday was "the best day of my life, dad".

"Since my grandson started Tiny Tigers back in September of 2003 he has become a more caring and responsible 5 year old. He has learned how to deal with conflict at preschool even at this young age. He was involved in a playground situation with his friends where they were all playing karate and another boy hit one of his friends which made him mad and they all said hurtful things to one another. My grandson felt so bad that he went up to the boys and apologized and said he wanted to be friends again and he was sorry he hurt their feelings. He was very conscious of not using his Taekwondo and he tells his friends that it is only used for protection. His teachers were very impressed with the way he handled himself and we proceeded to get the boys together to resolve the issue. The other two boys had no idea on how to deal with the conflict other than with anger. I was very proud of my grandson on how he was more concerned with staying friends than staying mad. This was a very important lesson at a young age and I know this will help him in the future with school and other like conflicts. It has given him the confidence to know that he can protect himself.
My grandson has also learned that being polite and nice to people goes a long way. He was in the grocery store with me one day and he walked in front of an elderly man and said, "Excuse me." This gentleman turned towards me and said how impressed he was with my grandson because, children these days just do not have manners anymore. I was so proud.
My grandson has made many friends through Paragon and he looks forward to going to class. He knows that if he does not practice his moves he will not move on to the next belt. Getting that next belt is a great reward to a 5 year old. He knows he has to earn it.
The Paragon Program offers many opportunities for young children to learn valuable lessons that will help them as they grow. The program has been an absolute joy to be involved with. The atmosphere is very positive and yet strict enough to make the children listen and pay attention. This definitely helps at school and at home. Even the discipline is fun by the way the instructors integrate games along with their teaching.
I tell everyone I know, that if they are having a hard time getting their children to learn, listen or just to be able to stay on task, they should enroll at Paragon Martial Arts.

"We wanted to write a quick note of thanks to let you know the wonderfully positive influence your program has had on our son, Billy. Billy started the school year with quite a few behavioral problems, including impulsivity and inability to control his action or even realize the consequences of his behaviors. Now, since the first of the year, and with you help, he has consistently exhibited excellent behavior and control! He has mastered this self control with an air of confidence and conscientiousness we did not think was possible We have nothing but the highest praise and THANK YOU to ms. Roberts and Mr. Bass for the undying devotion and care they've given to our son and every single child in their program. Thank you again and we look forward to a long, successful relationship as Billy moves through he ranks!"

"Mr. Bass really cares about our future. In class he sits us down and tells us how to not take drugs. He goes over confidence and integrity until we understand it. It sure must be important because he spends so much time on it. I think he really cards about us.

We have been very happy with Paragon. Our son loves when they do the coordination things like blocking the bat- kicking at the pads and trying to avoid getting caught in the pad. Seems there is so much laughter and fun going on not just working on their forms. With everything going on in our world right now, I think our kids need to have as much fun as they can and listening to them laugh at the of the day is medicine for some very frazzled days. Laughter is the best medicine. We like to see our son learning about respect and honor and discipline but I believe having fun is just as important! Survey on February 2003

"Last Friday was a special night. Kevin received his black belt, a long awaited milestone in his life. I think it is great how you introduce the people who test to a bit of the Korean language and some of Taekwondo's history. Kevin was actually disappointed, that he was not asked MORE of his Korean words.....Our kids are exposed to different languages, having moved here from Switzerland 5 years ago.(We speak 4 languages there). I welcome the multi-cultural experience and hope other schools will adapt to your idea. Kids need to know, that there are other cultures and Taekwondo has been the very best thing to happen to my kids. We miss our homeland very much at times, and there have been unpleasant bully issues at school for Kevin, that have escalated to the point of being harassed by many classmates, with no stop being made to this intolerable behaviour by the principal. Kevin did not want to go to school anymore and it took several letters and phone calls from us to point this out within his school. But through all of this crisis, he always looked forward to go to his ATA classes, it has been a place of friends, where he experienced he belonged and felt good about himself.
He has come such a long way, and knew, that there were expectations to be fulfilled. (Which is another issue that is not enforced strongly at the public schools). Jody Horn made him work hard, and Kevin learned, that this pays off. Whatever pressure he had to endure during the teasing at the school, ATA was always the place that taught him, he is a worthy person, and should be proud of who he is. He came home from school so often, crying, depressed and taunted by the bullies, there is some silent violence going on there, that has been ignored for so long, but I tell you, when it was about going to ATA, he cheered up and was happy and eager. Sarah as well has gained so much and we are very proud to have two ATA kids, we enjoy the tournaments, all the events, the KRAV MAGA, your school is just like our family, that we don't have here. I am so glad that we found ATA. Sometimes when I think about moving back home to Switzerland, Kev says, I am staying here, I am not giving up ATA !! LOL.... Your school enables kids to grow, and I have seen it in our two kids so much. It enabled Kevin to believe in himself despite such negative impacts that he had to endure at his own school, he realized that it was not him, but the lack of the principal facing and dealing with the issues. Because each time we drove home from ATA, he was happy and expressed positive feelings, so I just want you to know, life here wouldn't be the same without your school.
Thanks !! Warm regards, Monika Courtney March 2001

I wanted to take a moment to offer praise to one of your young instructors in your Conifer location. My son Jackson started in your Karate for Kids program in November of this year. As with most parents, we encourage him to participate in a variety of activities including sports. Although this may sound like a cliche, Jackson has never shown any interest in group sports such as soccer or t-ball, therfore, it was difficult to get him involved with any type of extracurricular activities. Jackson is truly enjoying himself. To that, I must credit his instructor, Mr. Tony Fernandes. His unabashed enthusiasm for the sport and his extreme willingness to teach and make the learning fun and rewarding has had such a positive affect on Jackson. This has been demonstrated on several levels. What a difference Mr. Fernandes has made on one little boy and his family.

"Just a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate your efforts and how much our kids have gained in self esteem, self-control (especially Kevin) and integrity -- you make the kids feel good by being strict and emphasizing hard work, which is lacking at the public schools,. You give them the structure they cannot experience there most of the time and I am very impressed with your skills and patience towards young kids and teens. Kevin has learned that it pays off to work hard, and come a long way with his listening skills, from where he started two years ago. Thanks again, you are a great instructor!"

"A quick note to express the appreciation for the effects ATA Taekwondo has had on our son, Kevin. I look back a year and see a wonderful change in him. His appearance has changed in a way that he even looks more mature. I know this happens eventually, but I do feel that the activeness of Taekwondo has helped Kevin with his overall coordination, strength and control. . . A friend once told me that one person saying just one thing to someone can make a big difference in that person's life. Thank you all for your positive affirmation of Kevin."

"My daughter's involvement in Taekwondo has a direct and positive effect on her grades at school. She recently took about 2 1/2 months off from Taekwondo; during that time her grades dropped considerably. She got back with the program at Taekwondo and her grades improved. Her involvement here helps her to become more disciplined and gives her many opportunities to feel good about the wonderful young lady she is becoming."
____________
We decided to have our daughter in this class because we liked the instructors. We also were having trouble with discipline. This has improved greatly since she began. I feel her outlook on life is a lot more positive.
____________
Zach has improved in his grades in school from a 2.5 average to a 3.85 average over the past 12 months. He is now an Honor Roll student. I have seen a dramatic improvement in his self esteem, confidence and adult respect, and overall attitude towards teachers, friends and parents. I feel this is a direct result of the Taekwondo education he has received. He has learned how to control his emotions and turn them towards a positive and respectful outlook and demeanor. I feel this education has made Zach a very responsible and positive teenager.

"On behalf of Paul, we would like to thank you for the ways you have touched Paul's life. We have seen a tremendous change in Paul's coordination and strength - but much more than that, Taekwondo has helped Paul deal with the struggle of working towards a goal. Being a Black Belt was a goal that Paul set for himself from the very first Taekwondo class. After each new belt we offered Paul the opportunity to take a break, try another sport, etc. Paul was always too enthusiastic about becoming a Black Belt. . . . There were times when we wondered if it was worth it. By expecting the most from Paul while recognizing Paul's effort, spirit and growth you helped Paul stretch and grow to become his best. When a parent asked, "Will you require the children to show repect?" we remember waiting for your answer - we were relieved and pleased to hear you say "Respect is something I will demonstrate to the students and earn from them." Thank you for respecting each student for their individual talents. Paul feels competent and willing to try whatever you ask of him. He respects you and knows you respect him. Thank you again for your time, energy, humor, patience and caring.

"We have seen a lot of positive changes in Justin since he has been in Taekwondo. Learning tools for control and avoidance is at the top of the list. Justin previously had a big problem with controlling his emotions and actions. Taekwondo has helped him want to focus on controlling both. Before Taekwondo, when a physical confrontation of any kind was happening, Justin would have been right in the middle. Now, Justin has learned that avoidance techniques are a better method, plus techniques to diffuse a situation and feel good about his actions. We look forward to watching the future growth of our child at ATA Black Belt Academies."

"I never imagined my 4 year old son Luke would progress as he has. The positive role model provided and the fun atmosphere make concentration and learning fun. My son has developed confidence in himself -- in class and out of class!"

"We have been very pleased with our 10 months here. The encouraging atmosphere and the patience of the instructors are a real blessing. We also appreciate the patience and service we have received from the adminstrative side. The competence of the instructors and the leadership of Master Hauptman is excellent."

"Having my son Dylan in Master Hauptman's class has been nothing but a positive experience. It's not only about the teaching of Taekwondo, but Master Hauptman and his staff have a true understanding of what the kids are all about. Thank you for all your time and insights for my boys -- you are a true teacher."
____________
"Thank you for your positive influence with my children. Having spent twelve years learning and teaching martial arts myself, I can recognize the superior program you have created. My children improved in their academic endeavors, other sports and their overall confidence. You may not be able to see the difference and results of your influence, but I surely can and offer my heart-felt thanks for you professionalism and dedication to the art."

"Just wanted to thank you for such a great program filled with enthusiasm and care. Our son Joey has benefitted immensely from his seven months in your classes. He has always been a shy, quiet child having difficulty "speaking up" and calling attention to himself. The last seven months have shown a change in his self-confidence that everyone notices. His first day of kindergarten was so different than we expected. He couldn't wait to get there and meet his teachers and classmates. More importantly, his sense of what is "right" and demonstrating "how to be a good person" is forming daily. Thank you for your part in all of this -- keep up the good work."
____________
"Our son Edward's experience in Taekwondo can be counted as one of the top experiences of his life. He has worked on his own to get where he is, a 2nd Degree Black Belt. We don't coach him and we don't nag him. He is entering his 5th year and continues because he loves it. Taekwondo is special to Edward. He is a very small person for his age, at least a head or more shorter than his classmates. Being 11 years old and often being mistaken for a 7 year old is difficult. Your Taekwondo school has given Edward a chance to succeed based on skill, achievement, attitude and a bit of hard work. No one has ever pushed Edward harder than he could handle. Edward receives just the right amount of praise and an occasional word of advice. The role models at the Conifer and Evergreen schools are just what today's children need."

"In the last six weeks I've lost 13 1/2 pounds and a total of 19 1/2 overall. My blood pressure has dropped to almost perfect and I feel better than I have for a long time. The second half of the SongAhm Spirit of Taekwondo has become my credo and attending class has become a healthy, stress reducing alternative to eating away tension."
____________
"Thank you all for the terrific program you offer at this school! Originally, I had planned to start Taekwondo when I got in shape. My kids talked me into strating NOW and I'm so glad I listened to them. Between the excercise I'm getting and the encouragement and philosophy taught, I have finally been able to begin to get my life back on a healthy track. With the self-discipline and perseverance taught, I have been able to stick to a healthy diet and excercise program for the first time in years."
____________
"I have always been overweight. I HATE to diet, but have always wanted to lose weight. Enter: Taekwondo classes. WITHOUT DIETING, I have lost 2 pant sizes since I started. I eat what I want, work hard in class and lose weight."
